To do this, I keep the background as simple as can be to make your child the most vibrant, most eye-catching part of the photo.

How much does it cost and do I pre-pay?

No need to pay or order packages in advance....

... as a parent, I like to see before I buy, and I’m guessing you do too!

Within 1-2 weeks of photo day, families will be emailed a link to a private, online viewing gallery. Each gallery will contain at least 2-5 photos to choose from (depending on how many different expressions I'm able to evoke from your child).

Families will order prints and digital photos directly from their online viewing galleries.

Have you been wanting to add some life to your walls?

You'll find canvases, mounted prints and other wall art options in your gallery as well!

What to Wear?

I'm super excited to introduce my original, hand-painted backdrop designs!

This spring's will be a light peach, with a white floor with blue polka dots.

Colors that will LOOK GREAT with it are:

1- denim, white or beige

2- Any bright, COOL colors like the ones shown above. (Blues, blue-greens, violets, and fuschias)

3. Go for SOLID COLORS, or small patterns.

4. Try to avoid bold neon colors and graphics.

5. Feel free to bring a favorite stuffed animal or toy that you'd love to remember your child with!

What kind of shoes will look good?

If you have any favorites that you'd love to remember, go with those, however because kids' feet are so darn cute, consider having your little one go barefoot.

What if My Kiddo Won't Smile???

Stranger danger is a natural, healthy thing for kiddos this age!

I do my best to gently play and give your Little Ones time to feel comfortable... but there's a small chance we'll still end up with teary photos (which WILL still be memorable and oh-so-adorable to look back on when they're heading off to college or getting married)...

HOWEVER....

To help reassure your Little One that this strange new scenario is SAFE...

to help them SEE what happens on picture day, and let them know that it's ok to smile and play and have fun!

What to expect on Picture Day!

Will there be re-takes?

Only for schools in which all students are photographed for the yearbook* however I do offer off-campus Modern School Photo pop-ups twice a year for families who would like photos of siblings/pets in the same style as the school photos. Click here to be notified when these come around!

*Occasionally schools request a make-up day, so if you're interested in that, please talk to your school administrator and have them reach out to me if they'd like to schedule one.

Can you take sibling pictures?

Yes if your kiddos are all at the school I'm photographing !

I also offer Modern School Portrait pop-ups once/year for families who would like sibling photos and/or photos of their other children and/or pets to match the Modern School Portrait style.

Do you do retouching?

Retouching isn't included as part of my basic service, but if you'd like to add retouching, you can add it directly from your photo gallery for $10/image.
